ANNUAL MEETING

THE following in a continuation of the report of the above meeting, published last week : —

DELEGATES' REPORTS

—Woodhill—

Mr Kennedy, in the absence of Mr D. McDonald, gave an outline of the work done in this district during the past year, showing a growth from both spiritual and financial side, especially in connection with the Bible Class that was started early in the year. This has proved a great success, and is creating great interest in Scriptural matters for both old and young. .oMrHodson was warmly praised -'jMkthe_ work he had done, and , --.".^^PPrsted that "fa little more vising were done the work ; wouM be still more improved. Mr R. Pengelly, in a few brief words, endorsed Mr Kennedy's remarks. —Helens ville — _ Mr 0. P. Thomson gave an outline of the work that had been done in Helensville. The services had been held each Sunday without a break. The membership and attendances at the continued about the same as the previous year. Mr Thomson suggested that a stipend fund should be organised, as this would greatly facilitate the financial part of the work. About £60 had been raised for renovating the church and manse and they hoped to proceed with the work at an early date. r —Parakai — Mr H. Aitkenhead said great piaise- was due to Mr Hodson for the way he kept his appointments at Parakai, despite the weather and bad roads. The attendance was not quite so good as last year, this^ being accounted for by this deplorable war, as fewer visitors were in the district as compared to pre-war times. The people of Parakai greatly appreciated Mi Hodson's services, and hoped he woule be long spared to continue his work in the district. Mr Aitkenhead stated that it would be wise to erect a building on the allotment owned by this Charge at Parakai as soon as possible,' and suggested that if circumstances would permit they should proceed with the work without delay. —Kaukapakapa — Mr C. Jones stated that the attendance had fallen off a little. He said Mr Hodson had carried out his duties fearlessly and well, and great praise was due to him for the way he had helped in getting Ministers from Auckland to visit the. district, thus creating a deeper interest in the work. A Working Bee had been arranged during the year, in which a number of friends and sympathisers had joined, with the result that the Church building had been re-roofed with iron and renovated, and they had a supply of paint to finish the building —*i -—«dien the weather was finer. Ihe Church extends to those •-jTriends sincere thanks for their assistance. Mr Jones said, in conclusion, he hoped that in the year that lay before them they would be even more successful, and that they would all work together for the advancement of the spiritual interests for the community at Kaukapakapa. —Wainui — The Chairman reported that it was being arranged to hold a service at Wainui once a month if the people in that district would assist in supporting the effort.
