HELENSVILLE S.M. COURT.

FAILING TO ATTEND CAMP A young man named Grey was asked by the Magistrate to explain the reason why he had failed to attend certain camps of training notified by the military authorities, and gave a satisfactory explanation. The breach had been caused by him changing his place of abode. Major Turley prosecuted and did not press for a heavy fine, and Gray was ordered to pay the cost of the prosecution, 17s. DRUNKENNESS J. Patterson appeared jonba?A on a charge of drunkemjiSjjMßct a breach of his prohibiji^HPmSTts Mr Field appeared for tira accused, and pleaded for leniency. He was convicted and discharged on the former charge, and for breaking his prohibition order was fined £1. /• PROHIBITION ORDER ' An application for a prohibition order was allowed to stand over ; till.next Court, the police in the meantime to act as adviser to the ; parties concerned. ' y i CATTLE WANDERING Mr Field appeared for the defendant in the case, Police v. McCardle .(cattle wandering), and explained that it was only a slight offence and the blame was not really on the defendant, another party having left defendant's gate open, and allowed the animal to get on the street. A fine of Is and costs was imposed.
CIVIL CASES Judgment was given for the plaintiff in the following cases :— Dye; v. McKay—Claim, £34 17s lid, and costs 9s Stewart Bros. v. Nicholls — Claim £2 12s Id and costs 12s Dye v. Shields—Claim £9 4s 2d and costs £2 5s 6d Stewart Bros, v, Evancovich — Claim £4 Is Id and costs 18s Graham v. Williams —Claim £5 Is Id and costs £1 3s 6d. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES Allen v. Crump—Claim £7 14s 7d. Order made to pay 5s a month, in default seven days' ' imprisonment. Donald v. Diracca —Claim £12 10s 6d. Order made to pay 10s per month, in default 12 days' imprisonment. Stewart Bros. v. Haki Hore — Claim £21 0s 7d. Ordered to pay 10s a month, or in default 21 days in Mt. Eden. Mr E. T. Field appeared for^ the plaintiff in all the above cases.
