A MEETING of the HelensvilleParakai Committee in connection with the above was held on Thursday last in Stewart Bros. 7 sample room, there being an attendance of 25 present. The following programme of sports (subject to alteration if necessary), was agreed to, viz:— Tug-of-war, thread and needle race, married women's race, old men's race (over 50), girls' race (over 16), girl's race (under 16), boy's race (under 16), obstacle race, chain stepping (open), chain stepping for ladies, Highland fling. Highland reel (open), Highc©l| r.e©l (ladies), tossing the caber", putting the shot; horse events : high jump, jumping over hurdles, best lady rider, and best Kentleman rider.

The sub-committee appointed to interview the Picture Theatre proprietors, re use of their respective Halls for the concert, etc., on Saturday, 7th April, reported that both Mr Becroft and Mr Stewart would give the proceeds towards the Fund, less actual running expenses. It was decided to hold the Highland concert in Mr Stewart's Hall, and a Picture show in Mr Becroft's Hall. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded both these gentlemen for their very 'liberal response.

On the motion of Mr Elliott, seconded by Mr Aitkenhead, it was decided that the procession leave the corner of Railway and Bridge Streets at 10,15 a.m. sharp on Easter Monday morning.

Several ladies were appointed to endeavour to collect cash or kind from the residents of Heiensville and surrounding districts for the various stalls.

Mr Jas. McLeod was appointed to collect funds for the expenses of the Pipe Band, also to endeavour to arrange with the Railway Department for cheap fares for the Band.

The next meeting will be held in Messrs Stewart Bros.' sample robm .on Thurday, 15th inst., at 8 p.m.
