HELENSVILLE TOWN BOARD.

THURSDAY, JAN. IITH, 1916. PRESENT Comrs. J. F. Lambert (chairman), A. Becroft, H. Thompson, H. Aitkenhead, H. Graham, Jas. Stewart, and thederk (Mr W. F. Raisher). " MINUTES Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE Outward correspondence was confirmed. TOWN LIGHTING It was resolved, on the motion of Com. Aitkenhead, seconded by the Chairman —That schemes for lighting the town be advertised for. ROLL OF HONOUR On the motion of the Chairman seconded by Com. Aitkenhead, it was resolved —That the Roll of Honour to be placed outside the Library, be put in hand at once. LENDING LABOUR Com. Aitkenhead proposed and Com. Graham seconded —That the Helensville A, and P. Association be granted, the labour of two of the Board's employees for one day free of cost. CLOSING OF ROAD The Chairman proposed and Com. Aitkenhead seconded—That the closing and deviation of the road above the dam be approved, and that the. deed be signed and returned to the Waitemata County Council. FIRE BELLS WANTED It was resolved, on the motion of Com. Aitkenhead, seconded by Com. Thompson—That the Boaid assist the Fire Brigade in organising a Picture Entertainment in aid of fire bells. TIDYING UP CEMETERY The Chairman proposed and Mr Aitkenhead seconded —That a man be employed to clean up the cemetery grounds. HIGH SCHOOL Com. Aitkenhead proposed and Com. Becroft seconded —That the Clerk write to the Board of Education, pointing out the urgent need of a High School in the town. STREET INSPECTION. It was decided on the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Com. Becroft—That the Roads Committte inspect Mary Street. OFFICE HOURS It was decided that in future the office be open for business as follows*: —Tuesdays, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Fridays, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
