PRODUCE MARKET Mr. J. Jones, Auctioneer, Victoria and Lome Streets, Auckland, reports :— The market this week has been exceptionally busy, and a record Christmas business has taken place. We have held sales every day this week, and a very large supply of poultry has come forward. For good-conditioned birds good prices were obtained, though prices show a slight downward tendency. During this week we sold over 5,500 head of poultry, which is a record. Potatoes, fruit and eggs are much firmer. POULTRY Hens, prime 3s to 4s, good 2s 6d to 3s, small 2s 3d to 2s ss; roosters, prime up to 6s, good 4s to ss, small 2s 6d to 3s, cockrells Is 6d to 2s ; geese 4s 6d to 6s ; turkeys, gqbblers extra choice prime £1, good 13s 6d to 15s 6d, smaller' 10s to 11s 9d, -hens 4s 6d to 7s Qd; ducks, young 3s to 4s 9d, old Is 9d to 2s 6d. Pigs, 12s to £1 ss. FARM PRODUCE . Potatoes, prime 10s to 12s 6d, good 9s 6d to 10s 6d ; onions 13s 6d to 18s ; k'umeras 9s 6d to 11s.
