HELENSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL.
TO THE EDITOR Sir, —It was with much interest I read " The Knowing One's " satirical letter on the above subject, and I may endorse what he, in lighter vein, would strive to drive home. Now, more than ever, the benefits of higher education are needed, and the •' survival of the fittest " is seen qn every ha,nd. I too m,any parents alldw. their children to fjnteh their education and leave sch,qol wh,en a further Uvq years woujd m.ake all the diflfcren.ee between a highly educated, well balanoed child, and one who just scraped through the school curricalum. There is always room at the top, and a District High School is the best means of equipping our boys and girls for the positions they should take in after life. Hoping that the residents of this district will not allow the matter to drop until this longI felt need is met, and a J^igh School in our midst is an accomplished fact. — I am, etc.', Progress.
