BOWLING NOTES.
AWAROA BOWLING CLUB. —"Roosters" CompetitionHill and Young, 22 v. Cullen and Dwerryhouse, 15. The feature of this contest was the consistent bowling of Mr 7oung, this being his first season. In one head he had three touchers and the fourth bowl handy, The old ones will have to look to their laurels. Another match was to have been played on Saturday afternoon, but for some reason or other some players did not turn up, which was a pity, as the rinks were in good order. —The "Star" Competition— The "Star," held by Mr Hammond, was passed in, owing to the time limit _ being exceeded. A ballot was held, and Mr Constable has -first draw. He met Mr Smith, the result being—Smith 26 v. Constable 13. '"X J^^g^ —Club Competitions— 4HHLPI The Club competitions will start shortly. All players are urged to practice, and get into good form. —Coming Events — The Match Committee met on Monday evening, and decided that the following matches are to be played : — Championship Singles Handicap Singles—for Mr Graham's . pair of bowls. Mr Cuthbert's prize—for the B grade players ' Mr Jas. Stewart prize—for pairs. The 1 players for this contest will be balloted ' from the A and B grades. Entrance fee for all matches, Is; to~ be lodged with the Secretary; entries close on Saturday, November 25. The handicaps for the singles will be declared » the following Monday, November 27.
