WOMEN'S PATRIOTIC FUND
It is safe to say that no such interesting entertainment as this arranged by Mrs J, Carter, has ever been presented in Helensville district before. A galaxy of talent throughout. The dances, specially arranged by Miss Ganley, are a marvel of picturesqueness, and the children's dresses are modelled by special artists. Turning to the musical portion, Miss Maud Rimmer needs no recommendation and will be heard to advantage in new songs. Mr Baxter, a returned wounded 3oldier and an old pupil of the wellknown Colin Muston, is without superior in New Zealand. His perfect tone and fine technique are admirable, and there has been no such violinist appearing here except- the renowned Chermavskys. In Mr Harold Piper there is also an artist of exceptional merit, possessing a fine bass voice of much power. Mr Piper was the successful winner in one of the lai'gest singing competitions ever held in New Zealand. ' The farcical pomedy, " The Rest Cure," is brimful of humour, and has been carefully prepared under the in.anagem.ent.iof Mr A. J. Hill. The entertainment is qn Thursday, 16th November, and our readers are invited to carefully peruse the programme in another oolumn.
