RIFLE MEETING.
A rifle meeting will be I'eld^Jj^Ml Helensville Rifle Range on MondM^^^H October 23rd (Labour Day), commencinl^H at 8.30 a.m. sharp. Following are the^^n matches:— *? | First match, 200 yards, 7 shots, slow. Second match, 300 yards, 7shots, alow v Third match, 500 yards, 7 shots, slow. $ Fourth match, 200 yards, 7 shots, rapid In the fourth match the target will be exposed for 45 seconds; time will, be taken by officer in command of butts, who will be notified when all is ready at the firing point; ammunition to be on ground, bolts closed, cut off in, safety catch up ; on targets appearing bolt is to be opened and firing commences. Fifth match (ladies only), 5 rourfcls, 200 yards. Ladies will be allowed rests, but no coaching. ■•' .. Sixth match (cadets only), 5 rounds, 200 yds, rapid. Conditions: .The entrance fee for all but matches 5 and 6 will be 2s 6d. The Company Match will consist of 10 men » from the Highland unit and 10 men from tie Helensville platoon.
