BELGIAN EGG WEEK.
During this coming week another appeal to the generosity of the public is being made for the starving Belgians. The scheme is to collect as many eggs as possible, to be forwarded to Auckland where they will be ; tested and stored till next Easter when eggs are dearest. They Wl n then be sold, the'= funds being used to help the Belgian in their most pressing need. To help the good cause the Parakai branch of. the Women's Patriotic League has arranged to . send round carts with egg-crates all ready to pack: These carts .will, visit each house once or twice during the week for contributions of eggs. The Branch has had several promises of 10 to 12 dozen eggs—others of every egg produced through the week, and hones to make the quoto from 150 to 200 dozen. Contributors would materially help in the work by having the eggs gathered and washed prior to arrival of collectors.
