THE KAIPARA AND WAITEMATA ECHO WITH WHICH IS INCORPORATED "THE KAIPARA ADVERTISER & WAITEMATA CHRONICLE." HELENSVILLE, THURSDAY, Sept. 28, 1916 THE TOWN BOARD ELECTION.
ALL GOOD MEN RETURNED
The late Town Board District Election, which took place on the eve of our last publication, and consequently precluded our earlier remarks, came .off with out noise or a broken head. Of course, in electioneering and horse-racing, one never knows 'c till the numbers go up," as to the winning crew, and so it happened on Wednesday of last week, when a surprise took place on counting up, to find that old resident, James F. Lambert, topped the poll by a few over Jas. Stewart (an old member and chairman). Of the old members of the Board we now have Messrs Lambert, Stewart, Becroft, Field (last chairman), and new members in Messrs Thompson, Graham, and Aitkenhead, to administer the affairs'of the Town District for the public welfare, and we have every confidence that they will do so to the best of their ability, and at the same time congratulate them on the position they hold.
