DEFENCE NOTES.

ALL branches of the Defence Forces are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Presbyterian Church on Sunday, July 16th., to the late" Rifleman Matthew Me Arthur, who died from wounds received inaction on 25th ult." The Helensville Platoon, Kaipara Defence Rifle Club, of. which deceased was a member, will supply the firing party. The forces and all civilian bodies wishing to attend will fall in at 2 p.m. at the Defence Office.

There will be a special parade of Helensville Platoon, K.D.RC, at the Agricultural Hall on Friday 14th inst., at 7.30 p.m. AH members must attend.
