GETTING WARM IN A COLD BED.
Many people have to sleep in cold rooms in winter, and some, not being able to warm up readily after entering' bed, he awake .for a long time. To .? warm up quickly in a cold bed, lie upon . the back, with the bedclothes well tucked up about the neck and shoulders, 'vdraw up and extend one foot, then the other, alternately drawing the foot up ': as near the trunk as possible, and then extending it as far as possible. Keep ; this up for a few moments; and if done with vigour, by the time one has drawn :<: up each leg and straightened it out, say, -"X 100 times, one will be in a glow, and will , M usually feel sleepy, the blood having '- been draw away from the brain to the " muscles and skin. Feeble patients can X do a few stokes, and rest a moment or / so, and then begin again.
