DARGAVILLE V. HELENSVILLE,
On Saturday* June 3rd., a golf team from Dargaville journeyed down to try conclusions with the local Club. The weather was perfect for play, and everyone heartily- enjoyed the day's sport. The following are the results (Helensville playprs .being mentioned first in each case):—
—Men's Singles— '.. Murphy lost to Tate, 2 down E. McLeod lost to Roper, 2 down Hill beat Dargaville, 1 up McKinnon beat Pearson, 2 up Eames lost to Fallows, 3 down Carter lost to Page, 3 down Ro^e drew with Reid. —Ladies' Singles— . Mrs Peacock beat Miss Jervis, 4 up and 3 Miss Rimmer beat Miss Gavey, 2 up Miss McLoughlin beat Miss Closs, 2 up Mrs Sewell beat Miss Kelly, 5 up and 4 Mrs Elliott beat Miss Mitchelson, 4 up and 3 Mrs Carter lost to Mrs Dargaville, 4 down Mrs Stringer lost to Mrs Page, 3 down. —Gent's Four Ball— Murphy and McLeod lost to Tate and Roper, 5; down and 4 "Rose and Hill lost to Reid and Dargaville, 5 down and 3 . McKinnon and Eames beat Pearson and Fallows, 1 up. —Ladies' Four Ball— Mrs Peacock and Miss Rimmer beat Misses Jervis and Gavey, 5 up and 4 ; Miss McLonghlin and Mrs Carter lost to Misses Closs and Dargaville, 3 down Mesdames Sewell and Elliott beat Misses Kelly and Mitchelson, 2 up.
