HELENSVILLE'S MULLINGAR. Mullingar's victory in the Connolly Handicap at Wanganui on Thursday last, carried the meritorious stamp, for with Bst 51b opposite his name, and called upon ,to concede weight to noteworthy performers, he wa.s certainly not favoured in the matter of poundage. The account of the race shows that the son of Marble Arch was by no means favourably positioned when the last two furlongs came to be entered upon, but when the final demand was made upon the brown horse he was equal to reproducing that fine dashing run that he had displayed in several of his races, and a welldeserved victory went down to his credit-
