CHURCH PARADE
ON Sunday morning last,, 2,lst inst., a. a special Laca.l Bodied Church s,eryice AYa.s held in. the Pr^s.hyte.rian C!h.u.rch, "Ffelen.syi]le. 4.t 10 a-.nV en as" §enib,led a,t \hs Defence Qflftc.e, and n^arch,pd, under the command of Lieut. Fletcher (staff officer), to the Church. The parade was composed of Senior Cadets, Defence Rifle Corps, Fire Brigade, and members of Court Star of I^elensville L,odge. There was a good number qf each u,nH Pr-ese^t. 1% J^egian qf Frontiersmen were a.hsen^ on accouqt qf t.hp men, Ij^ing- u,na,hle t.q get together in, time. Mr S, Bimmer, of Aiicklanci, cqnduct ; ed th.c aery-ioe, and Miss Stewjart. officiated, at the organ. A goqd number of civilians were in attendance, and the Church was well filled. Mr Rimmer, in his opening remarks, gave those present a hearty welcome, and said he was very pleased to see so many present. Hie took for his text I Peter, 2 : 17•: " Honour, a.ll men ; love, the brotherhood ; fear. God ; hono,ur. tha King." A colle,ctio.n was taken, of which l^alf qf th.c. proceeds went to, the. Chaplain's Fund, for comforts, etc.
