Sir, —Touching your Dog Essay as published in last issue. Please allow me to state that though the article in question was very entertaining and to the point, especially where it stated that- a certain. class of dogs in our midst ought to be shot, as they are no use to God or man, the progress of the place, productive of any improvement in our midst, nor useful to local industry, you forgot to mention that some dogs have a thick hide, and when dead and their carca&s skinned, the skin is useful when it is fully blown out, as in the case of the\ bag-pipes, thus showing that some dogs-* are useful for a double purpose, viz., inj life to bark and bite, in death to help th'<| squeel and skirl, —I am, etc., J{g| Scotch Dog|§i
