EASTER MONDAY SPORTS

A large gathering of people attended the Kaukapakapa Sports on Easter Monday in Mr C. Jones' paddock. The weather was all that could be desired, and a very pleasant day was spent by those present. All the events were well contested. The proceeds were in aid of the Kaukapa Presbyterian Church. The gate money amounted to £8 10s, and with donations and money made on the ground, the total in hand is £33 4s 2d.

, Programme : Boys' race, V. Vercoe; girls' race, F. Leach; driving, W. McLean land E. Harstedt; high jump, J. McAdarn (sft lin); threading needle, W. McLean and E. Harstedt; apple bobbing, C. Scott; long jump, C. Jones (14ft 8in); little boys' race, D. Vercoe; little girls' race, V. Bellini; bouquet of flowers, Miss S. Simcock; needlework, Miss Waddell; knitted socks, Mrs Hawkins ; other knitted article, Miss-F. Simcock.

ANZAC SERVICE

A very large gathering assembled in the Public Hall at Kaukapakapa on Tuesday evening, April 25. A> united church service was held, conducted by the Rev. J. A. Lamond, resident Minister. Riflemen, territorials and cadets attended in uniform. Mrs H. Bellini sang as a solo "There is a green hill far Away," and Mr and Mr Fewell sang a duet " Lead kindly Light." The collection amounted to £4 6s 4d, and goes to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund.

RIFLE MATCH

The rifle range here was a busy and noisy place last Saturday, when the Henderson riflemen paid a visit to Kaukapakapa and fired a match with the loca< men. The home team scored a victory, winning by 6 points. An enjoyable day was spent by all, and the ladies kindly provided refreshments. The visitors drove to Helensville to catch the 4 o'clock express for home,
