BUSH ACCIDENT

A MAN named Joe Wenzlick, belonging to Puhoi settlement, met with a nastyaccident in the abdomen on Wednesday, while at work hauling logs at Makarau. A kind of capstan is used for winding the logs to where required, and it appears that during this process the pole to which a pair of horses were attached gave way and snapped, with the result that the man received the force of the blow. He was brought into Helensville last evening per jigger, and put to bed in Bishop's Hotel. Dr. Meinhold was in attendance, and Wenzlich is now doing as well as ca n be expected.
