DOG TAX DEPUTATION
A deputation, comprising Messrs O. Sandin, W. W. Bradly, Jno. Simcock, F. Tuckei, and others, waited on the Board to 'complain of the unfairness of the Dog Tax. The speakers stated that they did not mind if the tax was 5s or 10s per annum, so long as everyone was treated the same. The main objection was that a person might keep a sheep or cattle dog as a pet and would only have to pay 2/6 per annum, whereas anyone else keeping any other breed of dog as a pet would have to pay 10s per annum.
The Chairman replied that there were notices of motion in connection with the matter which would come on at a later stage of the meeting, when the Board would consider the deputation's
