DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER

We have to record the death of another old settler, in the person of Mr Robert Ferrell, who died at his residence, Parkhurst, at the age of 69, on Tuesday last, 15th inst., after a long and painful illness, The body was taken by the 12.30 p.m. train from Helensville to Newmarket on Wednesday, and then transferred to the R.C. cemetery at Onehunga, a number of settlers being in attendance. v

Deceased, who had suffered from paralysis for 18 months past, was one of the oldest settlers of the suburbs of He lensville, and took a great interest in local affairs, especially those in connection with the school out Parkhurst way, and was for years a member of the committee. He had been 67 years in the Auckland district, and was blessed with a large family, no less than ten of whom are now living, together with Mrs Ferrell, all of whom, with a large number of friends and settlers, deeply mourn their loss.
