POLICE CASES
Alfred Patterson was fined £1 for a breach of his prohibition order.
Edward Sorrenson of Kumeu, contractor, defended by Mr J. A. Beale, was charged with assaulting Martin Loyich. of Waimauku, represented by Mr E. T. Field. The assault, according to the evidence, took place in a blacksmith's shop at Kumeu, on January 25. It appears that both parties got into a heated argument. over a flax contract, and " some heated words were used." It was alleged that Sorrenson seized Lovich by the throat and pushed him. ' Mr Page thought the case a trivial i one, but said he would corryfijj?- and order defendant to pay the exists of the case. V ' CIVIL CASES. Fenton, £4 8s 6d. H. Graham v J. Whiting, £3 Os 4d. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. W. Downer v. E. C. Luttrell, claim £12 4s 6d. The S. M., after hearing defendant's evidence, would not make an order.
Several cases were adjourned till next Court, May 10th.
