Slß,—Surely with seven Councillors to look after our interests, the ratepayers should be let know how they stand in finances as well as other matters. Are the ratepayers not paying up as they should ? According to notices appearing almost weekly in your ECHO, they are not. Well then, the Town Clerk should get to business, and make all pay, or is the Town Board so flush of funds that they are carrying on regardless of rates coming in ? Another thing—we ought to know how we stand in finances. This cannot be done without a balance-3heet. I myself, have not seen one for two years. Surely we are entitled to know how expenditure and income stand, and the number and amount of defaulting ratepayers. There are plenty of things we ought to know, and we look to you, Mr Editor, to enlighten our darkness. Wake up that Town Board, do. —I am, etc.,
