There were many excellent exhibits worthy of special mention, but for which we cannot spare the space. Miss Ida Vipond's exhibit of a collection of 52 grasses (all neatly named) was a beautiful specimen^ of iridustry and talent, but unfortunately the work was not vouched for having been done in the school hours of Kaipara Flats School. CHAIN STEPPING There were 73 entries in this popular "science," G. H. Wilson (Wellsford) coming Ist, with F. Vinson (Epsom) 2nd. WEIGHT GUESSING Fat Bullock (9351bs)—E. H. Cucksey, 9351b, Ist; E. Reyland, 9361b5, and G" Sinton 9361bs tied for 2nd. Fat Sheep (2,) 1301bs—O. B. Snelling and H.Newman, 1291bs each ; A. McLeod 127^1bs, 2nd. The sheaf-tossing event did not come off.
