DEFENCE NOTES

The annual meeting of the Helens ville Platoon Kaipara Defence Rifle Club was held in the Orderly Room on " Saturday, 22nd inst. Mr F. Stewart, President of the Club, was in the chair. The following appointments were made :—

Q.M.S.-W. R. Fosbroke to Staff Q.M.S., for duty with the Helens ville|.Platbon. , JrU'.iConstable to be Platoon Sergt.,. vice A. Garry promoted to 2nd Lieut. R. M. Becroft and W. Cox were appointed Corporals.

The Helensville Platoon will I parade at-1.45 p.m., on Saturday, V^j February sth, at the Orderly V Room, for purpose of entraining * for Kaukapakapa for company drill. Men not attending this . parade must hand in their rifles. •.

The usual parade for Cadets will be held on Monday night.

The whole of 64th Company Cadets will journey by express on February 1 to Takeheroa, for parade.
