WOUNDED SOLDIERS' FUND

THE second concert given by the Te Pua school children (and promoted by Mrs McGarvey), in aid of the above Fund, was held in the Star Theatre on Monday evening last, and proved a great success. There was a big attendance, a large number coming in from the surrounding district. All the items were encored, though the programme was a lengthy one. Most of the peiformers had taken part in the former concert, which gave all concerned a better chance to excel themselves, which they did, hence it would be invidious to individualise any one particular item. ( The tableaux, " Father Christmas," was excellently staged, and "Beauty and the Beast," as a little pantomine, ran with vivacity and catchy infection.
