Macedonian Campaign—Bulgarians Near Greek Border —Greek Army Withdrawn — King's Personal Assurances

The Bulgarians, following the allies in the south of Servia, are within five miles of the Greek frontier. A few hours should decide whether they will cross.

It is Reported that the Greek army at Langaza, 10 miles from Salonika, has been withdrawn to Serres, 43 miles to the north-east, leaving the zone from Salonika northwards free to the allies' movements.

King Constantine is said to have given the allies personal assurances, which are regarded as satisfactory.

German advices state that the Servian army, which retreated into Montenegro and Albania, is concentrating at Adriatic ports for transportation to Salonika. The Servian campaign is said to have cost the Germans, Austrians, Bulgarians and Tur ks 64,000 men killed and 147,0 00 wounded.

After the recent snow and gale at Gallipoli, the weather became beautifully calm. The men, including the Maoris, bore the storm well. The New Zealanders easily repulsed an attack on their apex. Their losses were infinitesimal, while the enemy lost about 50.
