The second Mock Court was got up on the date as above with a view of " getting at" the large number of residents who had- escaped being fined at the previous Mock Court, and "raising the tariff " on others, and thereby raising further funds on. behalf of the Queen of the North Carnival. We understand that a number who are so far termed " slackers " have yet to planx down their fines, which, in many cases., are merely nominal.
The Court opened in Stewart's Theatre (again given for th 6 occasion) precisely at 5 p.m., W. E Fusbroke Esq., J,P., occupying the Bench, as Judge, and ;Mr A. Hammond acting as Olerif, and a number of special constables sworn in for the occasion, with Messrs E. T. Field and 0. rfandin acting as pleaders. All were " madeup " so as to- be totally unrecognisable, with aid of paint., powder, and whisKers.
A bevy of young ladies were sworn in as a jury, with Miss Stanaway as forewoman, and all of whom werp fined in modest sums np to 'half-a--guinea, whicn were freely paid. Jaa. Hook was charged with, being a minor and entering into a contract without the lawful consent of his guardian—fined 10s 6d.
David Russell, for causing obstruction on Parxhurst Road by placing clay thereon—fined se. . ' Alex. Nich'oll a<mr. r for ill treating a horse by asking it to work; instead of carrying the animal, was fined 425. E. J, Yercoe was fined 21s for selling his'farm without having a license.
Robert Pringle, for nut using fetsam power in running trucicson the wharf was asked to turn-out 10s 6d.
H. W. Stringer, for talcing a walk before breadfast—2ls.
Eobt. Smith, for Kissing Kitty, on on fowling Green during- the absence of his wife—ss.
Thos. Oooper, engine-driver, foi* blowing his whistle and frightening doniceys in Hand's paddocic— only 7s 6d.
Geo, Murray, for striking a nail on the head, got off for 12s (3d. David Ross, for allowing his coves to wander in MacKenzie's cabbage garden, was fined 2s 6d.
John Clarke, for driving cattle before sunrise—2ls.
John Hunter, for unlawfully driv ing a horse that was not a hunter-^ss
Mrs 0. liawson, for leaving Hel ensville on a free trip without the consent of Mother Grundy, was lot off for 10s 6d.
Captain Sellars, for furiously driving his motor car along Commercial Eoad, and Mrs Sellars for allowing her husb md to leave the township pretty often without her consent, were fined £2 12 6d.
Chemist Elson, selling drugs with ont a license, 10s 6d.
FranK MacKenzie juur., oatiug too much printer's pye—2ls. John Carter, employing unlicensed carter to carry his luggage to the railway station - 2ls.
Btationmaster Mirams, for using electricity as a new light—los Gd. Jas. Stewart, for throwing his cap and booic at the Judge, nud calling out '■ Fathead," was lined £5 ss.
Jas. Hand and T. Buckland were also fined £5 5s each.

The employees of the Railway Terminus Hotel, Kaipara Hotel, and. Helensville Hotel, were ai^o duly fined 2s Gd and is 6d respectively.
