OBITUARY

AN old and respected settler- of Hawke's Bay, named John Eobt. Young, passed away at the Helensville Private Hospital on the morning of Sunday last (14th inst), after a somewhat troublesome illness from kidney complaint. Deceased was a comparative stranger to the place, having come here some six or eight weeks ago for the purpose of making a speedy cure, but not being satisfied with his short stay, he went to Takapuna for a time, then returned again to Helensville (accompanied by his wife), putting himself under the professional care of Dr Meinhold. Deceased, who was 67 years of age, was interred on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Mr Merton officiating, and Mr A. Becroft acting as undertaker.
