Situation in Servia — Defenders Hard Pressed — Successes in Macedonia — British Transport Sunk
The Servians have re-captured Koprula, on the Salcnika-Nish Railway, after desperate fighting. Ihe French have completely repulsed Bulgarian attacks in the btrumnitza region, in the southwest of Bulgaria. Despite these successes, the Marquis of Lansdowne, speakiug in the House of Lords, said the situation was most serious, and it was improbable that the Servians would I be able to withstand the Austro- , German and Bulgarian attacks Wfny length of time. 3Bjjf-Edward Gray states that as <jrsece has not seen her way to support Servia, the British offer or the cession of Cyprus has lapsed. Reports from Russia indicate that the munitions crisis is now definitely ended, the Russian .armies are well posted, and will soon .be able to commence a general offensive. *Sjer»British transP°rt Marquete oi 7057 tons, has been torpedoed in the^gean Sea. Ninety-nine ■ot those on board are not accounted for. A British submarine has sunk a Turkish transport in the Sea of Marmora.
