THE Premier stated recently, when asked why salaries should not be reduced during v?ar time, that such reform was hardly necessary "at present." The salaries of Ministers are : —Mr Massey £1,600, Mr Herries £1,300, Sir Joseph Ward, Messrs Allen, McJNab, Russell, Myers, , Herd man, Mac Donald and Fraser £1,000 each, and Dr Pomare £400. Sir Francis Bell and the Hon. J. A. Hannan receive no salary.
