THE Premier stated recently, when asked why salaries should not be reduced during v?ar time, that such reform was hardly necessary "at present." So that everything in the political garden is lovely, and the people have to fork out £10,300 per annum for the luxury of a National Government. Sir Francis Bell and the Hon. J. A. Hannan receive no salary.
