AWAROA BOWLING CLUB
A meeting of the Committee was held on Monday evening, 13th inst. Mr A. J. Hill, President, occupied'the chair. .
Opening Day.—lt was decided to officially open the. greens on Monday, 25th October (Labour Day), and that a Ladies' Committee be formed, with the assistance of Mrs D. Stewart, to carry out arrangements in connection with providing refreshments. ~~
Tournament.—lt was decided to hold a full rink and pairs tournament on 30th and 31st December, 1915, and Ist January, 1916, and that the Town Board be asked to join in assisting.
Members at the Front.—A motion to keep financial any members going to the Front was carried unanimously.
Prizes for Competitions— Mr Hill has offered to donate a pair of bowls for championship. Mr Garry will give a medal to the winner of Handicap Singles.
Coach for Beginners.—The generous offer of Messrs Graham and Murphy to instruct beginners in the art of playing was accepted with thanks.
Weather and other circumstances permitting, the greens' will be opened for practice play on Saturday, 2nd October.
