DARGAVILLE MADE HAPPY

Last week Dargaville was made very wrath indeed by it being freely given out from Wellington that all further lotteries in connection with patriotic funds and other movements promoted for gathering in the sheckles, were to be prohibited, as their continuance was being abused and running in juxtaposition against the Act of Parliament, which provides for lotteries for works of art (by permission) and Church bazaars. But after due consideration it was decided that all existing lotteries already promoted for patriotic purposes should be allowed to proceed, hence Dargaville is made happy once more, and is now running their Queen Carnival all they know, being in anticipation of raising something like £10,000 for the wounded soldiers' fund. There are to be any number of valuable prizes offered, attractions extraordinary, and tickets at 2/6 each are being readily aold all over the district. What is. Helensville doing ?
