Italy and Turkey—Formal Declara-

tion of War —British Submarine Lost —Attacked in Danish waters —Fall of Novo Gieorgievsk

It is reported from Constantinople that Italy has declared war against Turkey, and that the Italian Ambassador has left.

A British submarine, El 3, when on her way to the Baltic, became

stranded off the Danish island of

Saltholm. While efforts were being made to refloat her, a German destroyer arrived and fired on her, despite the fact that
