OFFICIAL PRAISE OF YOUNG MARSHALL

Egypt, June 30th, 1915 Mrs F. Marshal], Helensville,

Dear Madam, —I feel that it is my duty to write and let you know that your son was a great favourite in his troop, and that personally I thought a lot of him. The whole time that he was in the force his conduct was beyond reproach, in fact, he was quite one of the steadiest men in the troop. He received a very nasty wound, and although everything was done for him he passed away five days later. He was " game " to the end. Please accept my sincerest sympathy, and believe me, —Yours very sincerely,

Walter Puddock, Lieut., A.M.R
