UPON READING the Affidavit of Harry Wilkin Stringer filed herein IT IS ORDERED that service on the above-named Defendant of the summons in this action may be effected pursuant to Section 68 of "The Rating Act 1908" by the insertion in "The Kaipara and Waitemata Echo" on the sth day of August 1915 and on the 12th day August, 1915 of an advertisement containing a copy of the summons together, with a short description of the lands affected and a memorandum of the rates and penalty sued for with the addition of the words—"According to the records of the Land Transfer Office the said piece of land was at one time owned by Oscar Wilson formerly of Helensville fireman. Any person knowing his whereabouts is requested to forward this advertisement to him."

I Harry Wilkin Stringer of Helensville Clerk and Collector to The Helensville Town Board make oath and say:—

1. The sum of lls Id for rates and penalty as specified in the Statement of Claim is owing to the Helensville Town Board in respect of the above-named piece of land.

2. In the month of July, 1914, I posted a demand for such rates addressed to Jessie E. C. Wilson 19 Green st Wellington —the person appearing from the rating roll to be the occupier thereof. Such demand and subsequent applications for such rates and penalty were returned through tne Dead Letter Office.

3. According to the records of the Land Transfer Office the title of the said piece of land stands in the name of one Oscar Wilson of Helensville Fireman who became registered proprietor thereof in 1886 but no such person is now known there and it is not known who is now the owner of the said piece of land.

4. I have been a resident of Helensville for upwards of four and a-half yearsand Town Clerk thereof for upwards of three years.

5. "The Kaipara and Waitemata Echo" is a newspaper circulating in Helensville published on Thursdays and I respectfully suggest tha-t service in pursuance of Section 68 of "The Rating Act 1908 " be effected by advertisement in two issues of such newspaper published on the fifth day of August 1915 and on the twelfth day of August 1915 a copy of the summons together with a short description of the lands affected and a memorandum of rates and penalty sued for in' the action with the addition of the words—" according to the records of the Land Transfer Office the said piece of land was at one time owned by Oscar Wilson formerly of Helensville Fireman.
