REPLY TO PRO BONO PUBLICO.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —My attention has been called to a letter in your issue of the 24th inst., signed " Pro Bono Publico." In the first place your correspondent growls about the absence of light at the Post OfficeProbably his attentio n was called to its absence by the knowledge that the Town Board was actually then and is now negotiating for the establishment of a light there. But when your correspondent goes on to suggest that the Town Board is working in the interests of some syndicate or other, and using all available funds to promote the interests of that syndicate, one is led to the conclusion that your correspondent should be examined by an expect in mental diseases. What syndicate does he imagine has been nursed by the Town Board? And how and when did the Town Board spend any money with the object of assisting that syndicate ? If your correspondent wants to find fault let him come out into the open instead of skulking behind an anonymouf signature.—l am, etc.,
