The Court sitting was a rather lengthyone, Mr Page remaining until 10 p,m. on Friday, and resuming again on Saturday, when business was finished by noon.
UNDEFENDED CASES Judgmant for the plaintiff, with costs, was. given in the following : James Hook . H. Allison, £4. Stewart Bros, Ltd. v J. Tyerman, 8s 9d Same v Mita Matiu, -21 Is 2d. Same v Heiry Hughes. £20 6s 9d. Same v F. J. Cos, £10 19s 2d. Same v J. Muriwai, £3 2s fid. Helensvilie Town Board v B. E Williams, £9 5s 2d. Helensvilie Town Board v Margaret Beale, £3 15s 6d. X*-, Several cases were confessed. . i|j[J struck out. ' ■■' Mr Field appeared for plaintiffs^ in the above cases. DEFENDED CASES W. H. Reyiand (Mr Field) v John McKenzie (Mr Moody), claim £27 14s for bricklaying work, etc. After a considerable amount of evidence had been taken, judgment was given for piaintiff for amount claimed and costs £5 6s. Stewart Bros., Ltd. (Mr Field) v T. E* Ndwey (Mr Moody), claim £33 7s 9d- for goods supplied. Judgment was given for plaintiff £32 18s 9d and costs £5 16s. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES Orders were made in the following cases:— ' v James Stewart v Kio, claim £14 14s ; £5 pe- month, o? in default 15 days. Stewart Bros. Ltd. v J. Montgomery, claim £14 18s Td; order made for £1 per month. POLICE CASES Two young men were charged with not attending .Concentration Camp at Te Papapa "on' the 20th Februarjr last, under the Defence Act, 1909. One case was withdi-awn, and the other defendant was convicted and discharged. AFFILIATION CASE Some six or eigi.t hours were occupied in hearing a case brought on by a fairly-att-active, though simple-looking lady of about 21 (a native of one of our out-d: s J ;cfcs) against a young man of the town, whose age might-be 16 or 17 yea"s, for the maintenance of a child, the resuic ov early sta,.'-gazing. As in most cases oca slirlia.- nature, the 6oft .'mpeaciiinAit was vigorously denied. Mr Beale appeared for the young lady, and Mr Field ?ov the "boy." As the Bench couid not come to a readydecision, owing to conflicting evidence, [ Mr Page reserved his decision.
