DEFENCE NOTES

HELENSVILLE PLATOON

The Platoon will parade on Thursday, 24th inst., at 7.30 p.m., at the Defence Office ; and also on Saturday, 26th inst., at the same place, at 2.30 p.m.

The parade last Saturday was most instructive, and the conduct of the men gave satisfaction to the officer commanding, Lieut. White.

Captain Turley, officei in command of this Area and adjutant of the 15th (North Auckland) Regiment, is at present on duty at Whangarei.

Twenty-five cadets were medically examined for the territorials on Wednesday, 24 of whom passed, and one territorial from Waby, passed for the next reinforcement.

The ra&dica! examination was conducted by Dr. H. Phippen, medical officer to the Defence Department for this area. .
