DEFENCE NOTES
HELFNSVILLE PLATOON KAIPARA ' RIFLE CLUB The Platoon will parade at the Defence Office at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, 17th inst. On Saturday, 19th inst., the Platoon will parade at the Defence Office at 12.15 p.m. sharp. All members are requested to attend. In all probability Captain Turley and Lieut, White will be present at parade, which will be in conjunction with the Legion of Frontiresmen. *• ■::• # MORE BOYS FOR THE FRONT A batch of. recruits for the seventh reinforcement contingent left for Trentham training camp by special train shortly after -2,30 on Tuesday afternoon. The contribution from the No. 1 area, Auckland city and suburbs consisted of 75 infantrymen and 35 mounted rifles, and there were also drafts of men from the North Anckland and Frankton districts; and the cry is still for more. * * * LOOK AFTER OUR FIGHTERS The men who were fighting and suffering pain on our behalf were saving our privileges for us. The people should give themselves to more noble and more heroic thinking, and see that the men who had. yielded themselves for their sakes were properly provided for.
