THANKS FOR NOTHING

As no one has had the common courtesy to thank the ECHO for all printing in connection with the .recent benefits in aid of the Hospital Ship, etc., as well as supplying the programmes, we take it upon " ourselves to thank ourselves." In future our motto will be " pay and be paid." Hitherto we have done printing and advertising free for most of the numerous out-districts which have promoted benefits for the Belgians and other worthy objects since the war commenced besides subscribing as liberally as we could from private means, but in future we shall ADVERTISE' BENEFITS ONLY in connection with the war, therefore ALL PRINTING will have to be paid for; nor will we in future contribute to more than ONE list having the same end in view. One can do a lot for nothing in Helensville, and get no thanks, not that we hunger for them.
