Constable Driscoll had occasion to take a very old resident of Kumeu, aged 68, up to Auckland Hospital on Tuesday. The old lady was suffering from senile decay and is an old age pensioner.

According to the decision by Mr Poynton, S.M., at Fielding, on Saturday, an unfinished game of billiards must stop at the closing hour of the billiard saloon. To continue the game, to a finish constituted playing after hours.

Mr Small, Truant Officer for the Auckland District, visited the Woodhill Public School on June 4. An examination of the roll showed that the attendance^ was very irregular, and the probability is that some prosecutions will follow the Inspectors visit.

The Headmaster of the Helensville School has received a notification from the Education Department that the Cadet detachment of his school has been successful in winning the Wanganui Defence League's Shield in the Cadet Shooting Compfetitirns for 1914. This shield is awarded to the school making the highest average in the Dominion in the competitions among schools using B.S.A. air-gun.
