MORE HOLY THAN RIGHTE-OUS-PERHAPS.
The other day a party of (never mind how many), were just having a "Wee Deoch an' dojjas" up at Professor Cucksey's Pharmacy, when it was suddenly discovered that as fast as one of the company tried his best to administer the required " deoch " it ran up his sleeve, or somewhere else. The laughter ran fast and furious as did the "White Horse" THROUGH the glass. Our friend, who was from the land of the heather, didn't appear to like the situation, especially with everyone else making fun of the incident, as if he were possessed of unsteady nerves from the effects of "' a night out." The fact of the matter is this —that the glass in question was a sample of what used to be sent round as " Made in Germany." You know — a sample that couldn't be made use of otherwise than looking through a glass with a hole in the bottom. It wouldn't even hold water.
