A report from Athens says the Turks on Gallipoli Peninsula are penned in and surrounded. The allies are being continually re-inforced, the landing of fresh troops being effected without difficulty.
Two British submarines have been in the Sea of Marmora for a fortnight, creating panic among Turkish shipping.

The allies have gained further successes north of Arras. After occupying Carency, where many guns and much ammunition were captured, they advanced to the neighbouring village of Albain St. Nazaire, which they now hold but for the eastern outskirts. The railway between Neuville and Givency, between Arras and Lens, has also been captured.
The Times correspondent at Dunkirk states that the lack of an unlimited supply of high explosives robbed the British of full success in their attack on Fromelles, north of La Bassee. The artillery was unable to destroy the German defences, and the British were unable to maintain themselves in the trenches won.
The Italian Cabinet has resigned, leaving the final decision of peace or war to the people.
It is officially announced from Capetown that General Botha has hoisted the Union Jack at Windhoek^ the capital of German South-west Africa. This is regarded as practically giving the Union troops complete possession of |he colony.
