DEFENCE NOTES

HELENSVILLE PLATOON OF THE KAIPARA RIFLE CLUB

The Helensville Platoon of the Kaipara Rifle Club, with five members of the Wellsford Platoon and the Legion of Frontiersmen, went into camp at Maeretahi on Friday last. A lot of useful work was put in. The camp broke up last Monday evening.

Although the weather was unfavourable, the men seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of soldiering and camp life.

Next Thursday Dr., Phippin will medically examine those men who have given in their names as recruits for the next re-inforcements.

The Helensville Platoon K.R.C will parade at the Defence Office at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Those members who have not returned their rifles to the Quarter-Master Sergt. are requested to do so as soon as possible.

It is hoped there will be no absentees from next Saturday's parade.
