HELENSVILLE SALE
Messrs Alfred Buckland and' Sons report on Helensville sale of Wednesday, 3rd inst., as follows :—
There was a large yarding of cattle and sheep and a few horses.
CATTLE.—Springers realised up to £8, inferior £6 ; beef cows to £8 10s, smaller from £6 ; beef steers, 2H-years, £9 10s 3-year store steers, £6 ss; 2-year-olds, £4 10s ; empty cows, fresh, to £4 10s ; 1 ttf 2-year-olds, £3 ss; one pen of calves from Mr T, Mclndoe's brought £2 9s; smaller lot, 20s to 30s. Over 400 head were yarded.
SHEEP.—Some 460 were disposed of, averaging 12s to 18s, while fats brought 20s ; lambs were poor, bringing Bs-to 12s.
HORSES, —Several were disposed of at from £14 to £22.
NOTE.—The Kumeu yards will be opened for its first sale on 25th inst. when a good yarding is expected. From June next there will be fortnightly sales at Helensville.
