The market this week has been steady although values in most lines show an easing tendency. Potatoes and root crops are much lower. Pumpkins and swedes are low. Fruit is steady. Butter aad eggs are much firmer. The poultry market has been heavily supplied and prices are much lower, except for prime conditioned birds. Pigs are firmer. The grain market is steady and values about the same. POULTRY Hens, 1/9 to: 2/3, good 1/6 to 2/, others 1/4 to 1/5 ; roosters, prime 3s 3d to 3s lOd, good 3s' to 3/3 , cockrells 1/3 -to 2s; ducks, young 2/3 to 3s, old Is to 1/9 ; geese, to 4/3 ; turkeys gobblers 7s to 8/6, hens 3/3 to ss. The choice hens penned realised from 2s 5d to 2s lOd. Pigs, 6/ to 12/9. FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, local, prime, 4s to ss, good £3 10s to £4, Southern £6 to £6 10s : onions, £6 10s to £7 10s; pumpkins 5/; swedes, £1 5s to £2; kumaras, 7s to 8s ; citron melons £3 to" £4. Vegetables are low in value. DAIRY PRODUCE ■g?zs fresh 1/9 to 2/, butter llj^d to l/3lM3kcon 9d to 10d, cheese 8d to lOd, boMFSs to ss, "bulk honey 2d to 3V£d - FRUIT Apples, dessert 4/6 to 6s, good 4s to to 5/3, cookers 3/6 to 5/; plums, 4s; passion fruit, 1/9 to 3s 6d; grapes, 3s to 4/6 ; pears, Bon Cretion, 5s to 6s 6d, cookers 3s to 4s ; tomatoes, 3s Id to 4s 3d; -lemons, choice 5/ to 7/6. GRAIN Wheat, 6/9 to 8s; oats, 5/2, seed Algerian, 7/6; bran, £8 15s; sharps £9 10s ; barley 6s 6d; chaff, local £8 to £9 at station.
