The market this week has been steady and a large quantities of local potatoes have come forward and the market is glutted, with values mnch lower. The majority of the samples are on the poor side, very affected with rust and blight. Swedes are in heavy supply, with very slow sale. Poultry eased, unless for prime conditioned birds. Pullets are in strong demand, with high prices ruling. s POULTRY Hens, 1/7 to 2/3, good 1/6 to 1/9, others 1/4 to 1/5 ; roosters, prime 3s 6d to 4s lOd, good 3s to 3/3 , cockrells 1/6 to 2s; ducks, young; 2/3 to 3s, old Is to 1/9 ; geese, to 5/ ; turkeys gobblers 7/ to 10/, hens 4s to ss. The choice hens penned realised from 2s 5d to 2s lOd. Pigs, 6/ to 10/. FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, local, prime, 4s to ss, good £3 15s to £4, Southern £6 to £6 10s : onions, £6 10s to £7 10s; pumpkins 5/; swedes, £1 10s to £2; kumaras, 7s to 8s ; citron melons £3 10s to £4. Vegetables are scarce. DAIRY PRODUCE Eggs fresh 1/10 to 2/, butter 10^d to 1/1, bacon 9d to lOd, cheese 7d to Bd, honey 3s to ss, bulk honey 3d to 3^d FRUIT Apples, dessert 5/6 to 7s, good 5s to to 5/3, cookers 3/6 to 5/; plums, 4s; passion fruit, 1/9 to 3s 6d; Is 6d; grapes, 3s to 4/6 ; pears, Bon Cretion, 6s to 5s 6d, cookers 3s to 4s ; tomatoes, 3s Id to 4s 3d; lemons, choice 5/ to 7/6. GRAIN Wheat', 6/9 to 8s; oats, 5/2, seed Algerian, 7/6; bran, £8 10s; sharps £9 10s; barley 6s 6d; chaff, local £8 to £9 at station.
