A CURE FOR PEACH CURL

PEACH curl is one of the chief difficulties to be • overcome by the North Auckland peach growers, and consequently to them it. will be interesting to note that Mr Alfred Gibbs, of Longford, informed the Nelson "Colonist" that he had found a satisfactory cure for peach curl in . the simple process of driving a nail through the stem of the tree. He has followed th.s method for several years, driving the nails through the trunks of the trees in February or March, and leaving them there all the season to allow the sap to escape, and he has found it an effective preventive of peach curl. Local growers might well try this experiment, as the suggested preventive measures cannot be very detrimental to the trees, and their adoption would be a case of to gain, and nothing to lose.
