" COCKS OF THE WALK "

Last Thursday Messrs Cuthbert and Murphy were again successful, defeating the challengers, Messrs Hafford and McLeod by 19 to "13. The match was not started until after 5 p.m., owing to the rain. It was a very olose contest, the scores being 11 all at the 17th head, and as darkness set in after two more heads had been played the match was postponed untill next morning. The " holders " meet Messrs Ellett and and McEwin in the next challenge. Last Tuesday the " holders," Messrs Cuthbert and Murphy, defeated Messrs Eliett and McEwin. This was a very eyen contest for the first half of the game, but the " challengers" went to pieces afterwards, being finally defeated by 23 to 13. This event is now open to all members of the Club, and the next challenge expires on Friday. It is expected that the " holders" will meet a strong pair next match.
